With her interventionist creative initiatives, Erika's goal is to build technologically advanced platforms that ignite economic recovery and sustainable environmental consciousness.
Muhammad collaborates with businesses and youth serving organizations, including nongovernmental associations, government agencies, private businesses, and education agencies to engage the social entrepreneurship and workforce development needs of underserved communities. Erika is currently working on a multimedia space dedicated to the global urban youth culture. The aim of the arts center is to ignite economic and cultural recovery and provide youth with social entrepreneurship opportunities.
Erika works to integrate art that benefits residents and visitors into the architecture of cities. As an Adjunct Professor in New York University's Department of Art & Public Policy, she teaches "Art As A Catalyst For Economic Development." In the course Erika shares the tools she employs for economic development in the new arts economies for projects she is working on in New York.
